ModMaker Sled Contact Types

We currently use 3 different contact sets for our battery sleds and as they are different sizes they require different size sleds. Here is a picture of them installed onto an 18650 sled to give you an idea of what they are like and how their design affects the sled design and dimensions.

Type 1 / Keystone 204 & 238: These are the smallest of the contact sets we use. Being small means the sled can be shorter than the other 2 types as there is only 1 small spring side contact. Using this type also makes the sled quite low.

Type 2 / Keystone 209 & 228: These are the middle size contact sets we use. They are slightly bigger than Type 1 and so require a slightly longer and higher sled than type 1 but still shorter than using Type 3.

Type 3 / Keystone 5205: This contact requires the largest sled as both sides are springs. Because of the design of these sleds are the highest of our designs but the same length as Type 2.
