One of the key features to me is they can fit onto the end of a KeyClone 1047 or Keystone 1047 holder simply by bending the tabs back and inserting them into the board in the slots provided. See in the images.
These boards use a 1K potentiometer, not a 10K like other PWM boards.
Big Al's PWM board is a compact, high power PWM voltage regulator that is designed to fit comfortably on top of any 2x18650 battery sled. It can also be used for Lipo batteries in either a 2s, 3s, or 4s configuration. The board has an master on/off switch, reverse polarity protection, and a built-in 180A P-channel MOSFET. Big Al''s PWM board uses a dual 555 circuit, which is different from the standard 555-with-diodes that is used in practically every other board. In this circuit, one 555 timer generates the square-wave output (at approximately 650 Hz) and the other 555 circuit generates the varying pulse length. The advantage of this circuit over the diode circuit is that the board can be used with 2s, 3s, or 4s battery configurations, the frequency of the PWM does not change as the duty cycle is adjusted, and the pot can be connected using only two wires. Big Al''s PWM board requires no external components other than the pot, button and the 510 connector. It is also compatible with ModMaker''s Modmeter.
